EXHIBITS: MUSEUM

Interactive Focus
At the JJ’s Playhouse Children's Museum, kids learn as they do best – by seeing and doing. The museum
is an interactive space where everything is developed expressly with the children in mind! Children are both
educated and entertained by the hand-on exhibits. Each of the exhibits offers age-appropriate activities and
a companion curriculum that provides an opportunity for the learning that takes place in the museum to
continue outside of the facility. Targeted towards children ranging in age from 2 to 7 years old, the focus is
on play, discovery, learning, and exploration.

Explorations and Exhibits
The Playhouse Museum features nine permanent exhibits. Those exhibits are:

• Kitchen and Dining – In our kitchen children can stick their hands in the cookie jar, oven, or
  anywhere else they want to explore. In addition, there is an assortment of play pots, pans, plates
  and food to make exploration and play fun!
• Grocery – Mini grocery carts, food, and cash registers allow the children to have their own shopping
  experience.
• The Outer Space exhibit brings galaxies far, far away right within the grasp of the children. This
  exhibit allows kids to see and learn about stars, the moon, and planets.
• In the Medical exhibit, kids can play doctor and nurse with their own stethoscope, bed, medical bag,
  and skeletal chart.
• Banking and Office – Prepare the little entrepreneur for banking and investing with his or her own
  office complete with chairs, desks, bookcase, computer, phone and a "real-life" teller!
• A Nativity Scene exhibit that will teach children about the birth of Jesus year round. Who will play
  Mary or Joseph? Who will hold the baby? Who will wear the crown like the wise men? Everyone
  can have a turn as they play and explore. Animals will also be on scene for animal identification and
  sounds.
• The Easter Story exhibit will feature an indoor cave for exploration and fun.
• Little Lamb’s Cove is safe area with soft foam blocks for climbing, toys for tossing, animals for
  riding, rocking features, and balancing walks especially designed for infants and pre-toddlers.
• Creative Corner is an exhibit area where kids can explore their painting, building, and artistic skills.
  Tons of water colors, various building toys, and karaoke are sure to keep this corner filled with
  excitement.

In addition to the permanent exhibits, JJ’s Playhouse brings international themes right to the children
through traveling exhibits from other children's museum and facilities from around the globe.
